When Canadians book at Jay Peak, the first 50% of the package is payable by credit card (subject to exchange rate) and the remaining 50% can be paid in Canadian funds at par upon arrival. (certified check or money order and or cash must be used to pay at par). Jay is consistently recognized as the best tree skiing in the East — and the West and the North and the South. Leaving the trails and heading into the mysteries of Moon Walk Woods, Buck Woods or Expo Glade will give you a whole new appreciation of the term “tree hugger.” There are 22 named glades and woods — over 100 acres — in-bounds.
The Glades were born when Bill Stenger, our fearless leader, noticed skiers going off-trail and coming down grinning like maniacs. Inspiration struck and Bill decided to give the people what they want: woodskiing and snow nirvana.
The initiative fit in well with our philosophy: to give visitors the freedom to explore the natural gifts of our mountain anywhere within the boundaries. In fact this philosophy grew into a policy, and now we’re the only mountain with such a liberal in-boundary skiing policy.
In ‘04 we re-worked our Park layout and the feedback we got was super positive. This year, the parks (yeah, parks – plural) at Jay will be even better because of a continued collaborative effort between our Snowboard School staff, Park Maintenance crew, Grooming & Snowmaking staff, Ski Patrol, and, of course, the people that ski and ride the parks every day. The Jay Peak terrain parks will be off the hook this year. So get ready to get your steez on in one of the four freestyle zones, designed for your jibbing pleasure.
